Restaurants/drinks
There is a delightful restaurant in Paunat, which is a 10 minute walk away, plus an excellent choice of eating places within a 5 to 10 minute drive, ranging from simple bistrot to a Michelin starred restaurant. I am always pleased to recommend a restaurant to suit you and to make the reservation for you. If you prefer you can always buy a picnic and enjoy this in the garden.
I do not have a licence to sell wine or liquor. You are more than welcome to bring your own. Glasses and bottle openers are provided.
The garden
Tables and chairs and sun loungers are scattered around the garden so you will always be able to find a quiet spot to sit, read or enjoy a glass of wine, only to be disturbed by a nudge from a dog. The mill is surrounded by over 15 acres of lawns, a lake, streams and woods, offering an environment of perfect tranquillity.
Children
Because of the abundance of unfenced water the Moulin Neuf is not suitable for children under the age of 10.
Animals and wildlife
My menagerie includes Moussette and Léo, my adorable dogs, a cat, Tammy and Myrtle the turtle, who lives on the lake. If you are a pet lover you will be in 7th heaven! I welcome well-behaved guests’ dogs free of charge, asking please that until they get to know my dog they are kept on their leads. The local wild life is abundant including rare black woodpeckers in the poplar wood. You won’t see him unless extremely lucky but the valley is also home to an otter, seemingly making a come-back in the Dordogne. Also a gorgeous cat-like genet. Badgers and deer are commonplace.
Payment
I ask for payment in euros, either by way of a cheque drawn on a French bank account, bank transfer or cash. There are ample cash dispensers in the close vicinity.
Internet
Reliable Wifi (fibre) is available throughout the guesthouse.
